There’s a nice post over at The DebtFreePlaybook Blog today about some of the larger market forces at play, particularly those in the US and UK. And it seems that no matter how clever you are, how sophisticated the financial instruments, or how much liquidity you think you have, the simple truths still hold true:

“…that ultimately you can only spend what you earn.”

Everything else will come and bite you in the bum sooner or later…

Easier for Bankrupts?

In a bid to make it easier for people facing bankruptcy in the UK, some of the laws may be relaxed. Notable amongst them will be the mandatory newspaper announcement. So no longer will you have to face the ignonomy of having your bankruptcy declared publically. Or the dubious pleasure of hearing from well-meaning, but long-lost friends, inquiring innanely about how you are, and then asking if you’re OK, “Uuh, with the bankruptcy and everything, I mean.” Oh yes, fine thank you. And thanks for asking.
